Okay, so you know your husband is a designer when his comment after watching "The Lion in Winter" is, "Wow, I really liked the font used in the credits!" Or how about when he gets his new cell phone and rhapsodizes about the packaging. "Someone put a lot of thought into this. This is great!" Or when he goes to put the new sim card in and rhapsodizes again about the inside of the phone being designed well. My husband is a designer.
And, he must be a good designer because he has an awesome new job starting Monday. In case you don't know, Alex has been the Director of Landscape Design for Manhattan for about a year now. No more. On Monday he starts as the second in command for landscape architecture for all of NYC Parks. My husband is cool. And smart. And awesome. And good at what he does. Congrats Alex on a job well done!

WOW! HUGE CONGRATS ALEX! We are thrilled for you (not to mention seriously impressed!!) Before long you'll have your own show on TLC......like "Landscape Boss!" KUDOS!
Alex:
KUDOS AND CONGRATS FROM B. RAY & MARGE. Moreover, when you are both rich and famous and living in a large home in the upper east side, make sure you have an extra bedroom with a bath for visitors. Just don't wait too long. Marge and I are both in our 70's.
B. RAY
I can say I knew him when...
We miss our awesome designer friend. Congrats, Alex!
all those parks with your name on it will be helpful when you run for mayor in a year or two. Congratulations!
I have a question for Alex. My brother in law is thinking about going into landscape architecture. Good idea right now or bad?
Hey, thanks everyone! Especially my best friend Ami. What she should be doing is complaining about how often I have to be at work... she's a real trooper and a good example to me.
Hello Ronelle! With this blasted recession thing, I'm not sure it's a good idea to go into *any* field at this point. But I certainly have enjoyed architecting. My chances of having B. Ray visit us in a lavish UES apartment are pretty slim, but there are some other rewards. Have your bro-in-law email me if he has any questions I could help with.
Congratulations Alex! I am very impressed and excited for you guys! (I was impressed when you were the boss of just little old Manhattan). Sorry about all the work though Aim, that stinks. We are in the first year of about 8 years of full time school, but it's not the same for me. (I don't have twin toddlers you see). My new phone is up and running, by the way, so you can call me now.
Big congrats to Alex! That is awesome and very exciting.
AL! So well done! We are all so proud of you and glad to be your rellies.
AWESOME ALEX!!! What a move. Travis passes his kudos on, too! Send your snail mail address....I actually did Christmas cards this year! /Heather
We are always the last to know. Congrats! We'll be waiting for you to use your commuting time to develop an avalon hill-esque game of some kind modeled on your life: landscape architecture baron!
