will miss: the commute

If there is no traffic, from locking the front door of the house to whacking the security thing on my office door takes eight minutes. It's a very quick trip up the beautiful Grand Central Parkway. With traffic it can take up to fifteen minutes, but most of the time it's closer to ten.

Yep... pretty mellow. Everyone's going the other way.

I don't have to go on the westbound L.I.E., ha ha.

So this little slice of heaven will soon be exchanged for 2 hours a day on the Long Island Railroad, plus a bit of subway and walking or biking to the station. Just a bit of a jump there. But I'm hoping I can make the time useful and therefore not so obnoxious. We shall see.

Isn't the word "agonizing" used with the word "commute?" Just don't leave your lunch on the train.
