Suzanne asked about the park's name on the last post... and the NYT responds!

Andrew Haswell Green really was a cool guy. The NYT article misses the fact that he singlehandedly put the city's finances back together after the Boss Tweed debacle, no small feat. At one point he was paying city employees out of his own pocket, keeping the city's credit afloat.
Sorry for all the park stuff lately. We'll return to our normal programming as soon as I can find the camera cable to download photos.

I think you are also like Andrew Haswell Green, Al. They never mention you in all these articles about the great design--someday maybe someone will name a park after you, as the unknown genius of the Parks Dept. (I hope you aren't having to pay anyone out of your own pocket to build the place.)
Fortunately not, unless you count paying with the remaining shreds of my sanity...
Glad to see he's finally getting his due!
I went to the link about Andrew Haswell Green and then read all of the comments to the article. One commentator wants bathrooms in this new part. What say you Alex?
