Here are the quick stats. Baby A: 7 lbs even, 19-3/4", looks like Nico. Baby B: 7 lbs 7 oz, 20" even, does not look like Nico. Still no official names yet! We wanted to see what they looked like first.
And here are the pictures:
Baby A...

And his little brother, Baby B. A little unhappy when he first showed up, but quickly mellowed out.

APGAR was 9/9 for both, with a solid 100/100 on the cuteness scale, if I may say so.

If you could ask them, I'm pretty sure they would say the highlight of their day was going in the incubator. They both calmed right down and settled into an extended staring contest.

It was pretty much the highlight of my day too, come to think of it.

And now, a brief tribute to Ami, who deserves more than a brief one. She sailed through this like a pro. The doctors and nurses kept saying things like, "You can came back here to deliver anytime," "Girl, you make this look easy," and "Twins obviously weren't enough of a challenge for you. Next time better go for three."
I took this right after she delivered the second. Is it possible to give birth with style? If so, she did it. Look at that smile! (Yes, I'm sure the epidural had something to do with it.)

Congrats you guys!! They are so cute and chubby! Ami is amazing! We can't wait to see more pics and hear their names!
Hurray! Can't wait to meet them!
Amazing Ami! She is amazing. I love those babies! They are beautiful! Congratulations.
Ami, you R AMAZING! Honestly...I can't believe those babies were so big! They are so adorable! I seriously can't wait to see the little guys! I wish I lived there so that I could hold them all the time! I'm so glad that you are doing well and that everyone is healthy! Love you guys!
Ami! YAY! I'm so sorry you had to wait forever, but WOW! Those two are the chubbiest twins I've ever seen. So FREAKING cute. Congrats! You look amazing. Can't wait to hear their names so I can steal one of them for our baby boy. Heheheee!
Oh man that is so cool. Congratulations! I wish we were there to help celebrate. I guess we'll just run around banging pots and pans here in CA.
I've been thinking of you all week, Ami, and all day, of course. Congratulations on your babes and the delivery. We can't wait to meet them!
Amazing babies and amazing parents! I miss you guys and would love to come make mint brownies and play scrabble some time. Gee those babies make me want twins, too....but my numbers are already getting high. So happy for you!
Congratulations!! They are very cute babies. They will love to lay by each other, my sister and I did.
Ami you are amazing! Congrats again!!!!
Congratulations guys! They look like they've already been around for a week. They also look like pretty casual guys (at least Baby A) so I hope you'll be able to get some good sleep within a year or so.
I have to comment on the incubator picture. Blake & Ryan do all sorts of different things every day, but at night they lie in their beds and stare at each other across the aisle and talk and laugh together. I guess I should picture their room as a big incubator for (almost) 12 year olds. It's funny because we tried bunk beds, but they wanted to be able to see each other.
Best of luck to them and the whole New York Hart clan.
Congratulations!! Love the pics! They are adorable! SO happy that they are healthy. My hat's off to you for carrying them through such a hot summer (probably the hottest summer in NYC on record). What a champ! Looking forward to hearing their names. By the way, just found your blog! I will definitely bookmark it and look forward to updates on your sweet family. I also have a blog that I try to update on a somewhat regular basis. feel free to check it out sometime. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
CONGRATULATIONS! What wonderful news you have totally made my day. I can't believe how long you carried them (in summer!) and goodness- such robust boys! They will be sleeping like champs in no time. I love love love the picture of them staring at each other- I can just see them going, "hey....I know you".
I pointed out to Rob that baby B was almost exactly the size my Elinor was at birth and I was sitting there imagining what it might be like to just add one more to that: water, placenta and all. My result: unimaginable. Bravo Ami.
Yesss!!!!
Congratulations! They are adorable and I am so happy to hear all three of you are doing well!!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, and that includes Ami! We are all very thankful for their safe arrival and for Ami's health.
(Don't name them Barry and Roger.)
I'm so happy to see these little guys! They look very healthy, and Ami looks amazing too. Hopefully I can get myself together and get out there in a while to see you and them.
My comment didn't work yesterday - we are SO SO excited for you guys!!! Ben and Eli want to meet them!
Your babies are indescribably cute.
Ami, I cannot tell you how many times (when visiting with Mon or Jill) when your amazingly cheerful attitude through everything would come up in conversation--we're all in awe.
We're so thrilled for you guys!! You did it! We're all anxious to see these new little boys! Keep us posted and put up new pics as often as you can :-)
That is the best news. Ami, I already thought you were a stud, but now it's official. Those boys are precious--twice the sweetness to hold and cuddle with. Lucky number sevens with the birth weights...so cool. Wow. Amazing and wonderful. I hope we can meet them one of these days!
Hip hip hooray! What cute little guys! And, as many have noted, I have never known such nicely-sized twins. I will be looking forward to more pictures and hearing the names as well. They are so darn cute!
And Ami, you are the best. There is not a cooler person on the earth. Way to go Aim!
