A New Trend...

This morning I rushed Ellie and Nico through the routine... clothes, breakfast, brush teeth, brush hair, get backpack together, etc. Still, when I looked at the clock I discovered we had missed the bus (which comes at 8:45). Instead I drove Ellie to school.

As quick as I was, the walk-in door was already closed and we had to drive around to the office "late door". Ughhh... However, instead of her usual question of, "Why are you late?" the secretary greeted us with, "What are you doing here?" Somewhat confused, Ellie simply said, "I missed the bus." The secretary looked at Ellie and then looked at me and said, "It's only 8:25. School doesn't start for an hour."

Somewhat sheepishly, Ellie, Nico and I returned to our car and drove to the bus stop. There we sat in the car for 15 minutes until the bus came... this time at the actual 8:45.

Can you get dementia at 33???

Oh, Ami. This is too funny. You have definitely had a bad run.

These last two events sound like pregnancy brain to me. So when's the announcement?

Personally, I think it's because mom loosened up and never made you, Beck and Jenn eat Brewer's Yeast tablets and cod liver oil by the teaspoon full every morning! How did I get so lucky?? (ha!)

If it makes you feel any better, on three seperate occasions now, since we've lived on Bainbridge, I have left my wallet in the grocery cart at safeway after loading the groceries into my car. Each time, I have to go sheepishly back to the store and explain to the manager why I have no brain stem. I'm sure they've come to expect it now.

Maybe you just have Hart clocks running on Hart time. For cosmic reasons unclear to anyone, every clock in our lives says a different time. Yours just got extremely different. David and Anne have both gotten up in the middle of the night, taken showers, and been ready for school by around 4:00 a.m. I'm actually surprised you have dodged the family curse this long.

Hee hee. Another great story. You're beginning to sound like me. But hey, you lasted a long time. My brain stopped functioning long ago! :) I can't remember a darn thing to save my life. Except, of course, Kevin Bacon movies, which I find very useful at parties.

Ha! I was laughing so hard when I read this and the last post. This is totally something I would do. What I have to say though is 8:45, really? School here starts at 7:30.

I don't think you're insane or "demented!" Just human...and a quite intelligent human, actually.

That's really funny! I don't think I've ever been caught being too early for something ;)
